‘Glee’ Season 5 Trailer: All You Need Is Love, And Denial
After weeks of skirting promos and press releases, 'Glee' season 5 has opened up for a full trailer of its forthcoming September 26 premiere "Love, Love, Love," chock full of Beatles tribute numbers, and little else. The gang is all smiles and songs in the first real run of footage from season 5, but how long until the bottom drops out?
As fans of the long-running FOX musical dramedy well know, the coming season will air its premiere in a two-part installment that sees "Tina in the Sky With Diamonds" following up the next week, before things take a drastic turn to say goodbye to the fallen Finn (Cory Monteith). Of course, you'd never know that from the trailer, which highlights all the same costumes, musical numbers, and Sue Sylvester shenanigans as ever.
From the official FOX press description for "Love, Love, Love":
The members of New Directions are back in action and take on their biggest assignment yet: the Beatles! As Will enlists the kids to pay homage to the classic song catalog from the Fab Four, Blaine and Kurt attempt to answer questions about their future together. Meanwhile, Rachel’s New York ambitions take an unexpected turn in the all-new “Love, Love, Love” season premiere episode of Glee.
In addition to its series regular exits, ‘Glee’ season 5 will feature prior recurring cast members Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty) and ‘The Glee Project‘ alumni Blake Jenner and Alex Newell ascending to series regular. ‘American Idol‘ runner-up Adam Lambert will also take a role as Kurt’s new NYC rival, while Demi Lovato will take a major recurring role and ‘Spring Awakening’ star Phoebe Strole guests as a new love interest for Sam.
Well, what are you waiting for? Preview Finn-free 'Glee' in the trailer above, and stave off soul-crushing depression for another few weeks!
