Go Bowling with the Band!

My kids, friends, and I had a blast bowling UNDERNEATH a live band Saturday night!

As a mom of two boys, I am always looking for new and inventive ways that we can spend our time. And this one was a huge hit!

It's The Lanes At Sea Girt's "Rock and Bowl" Saturday nights...with a live band playing awesome music on a stage set up right above the lanes. A fellow mom friend of mine and her kids joined me and my boys and we actually got a lane that was UNDERNEATH the stage. And in the dark with all the cool lighting and fog machine, this was an entirely different experience than your average day or night of bowling.

The Jersey Surecats performed (there is a different band each week) we found ourselves dancing up to the lane each time we tried for a strike! They were AWESOME!

Granted, most people probably prefer to bowl the REAL way.....but we used the bumpers so that nobody had to get gutter ball after gutter ball! We haven't been bowling in years and it was simply more fun for us that way. We were just out for a good time...and the kids didn't want to leave. We had to drag them out of there after 4 games (the band plays 'til midnight!)

My fellow morning show girls (Sue from Soft Rock 92.7 WOBM and Marianne from WOBM AM 1310) joined me, too, and it was just a super fun night out. It's rare to find a good place to see a live band that you can bring your kids to!
