Send your parents to a class to learn things like fencing, yoga, dance, foreign languages, or to teach them how to work technology and enjoy social media...and so much more!

SCAN stands for the Social Community Activities Network and it's right here at the Jersey Shore to help your parents and grandparents!

The mission of SCAN is to enhance the lives of adults age 50+ in Monmouth and Ocean Counties and keep people active, healthy & connected!

During the pandemic, although SCAN wasn't able to operate out of their Monmouth Mall headquarters, they have made themselves accessible online with Yoga, TaiChi, a Jazz Music Club, Foreign Language classes and so much more virtually! A fencing class is even pictured here! You just never know what kind of amazing classes your parents and grandparents could take and connect with others at the same time! This is a wonderful opportunity for you to help them expand their horizons and make new friends so that they don't feel so isolated and alone. They'll be so happy you introduced them to this wonderful place :)

You can join SCAN on Facebook by CLICKING HERE for their live segments and updates.

SCAN’s also got a YouTube Channel and TV Programs including Community Connections hosted by Tom Hayes, our great friend from NJNG. Tom has interviewed "Lou & Liz" on that show twice, in case you want to track down those episodes to watch. SCAN’s YouTube link can be found HERE!

SCAN reminds you to STAY ACTIVE, STAY HEALTHY, STAY CONNECTED and most importantly STAY SAFE!
