Help Restaurant Workers and Update Your Mask
Shoutout to Ted Kaiser of Rumson who is doing what he can to help our struggling restaurant workers and mask you up at the same time.
Ted runs Tip Jar Masks where he sells cloth masks for all ages and donates a portion of each sale to charities and virtual tip jars.
Virtual tip jars became a thing when bars and restaurants were forced to close completely, leaving thousands at the Shore without work.
While outdoor dining has helped, there are still many unemployed servers and bartenders who are waiting the pandemic out and hoping to get back to work soon. A new stat from the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association shows that only 25% of foodservice employees have returned to work since early-August.
Ted is hoping to hit his goal of $10,000 in donations to Asbury Park Dinner Table, Red Bank Virtual Tip Jar, the Rumson/Atlantic Highlands/Highlands Tip Jar, and others.
Youth sized masks are $12.99, and adult sizes are $14.99 for adults. Shipping costs not included. $3 from each purchase will be donated to the virtual tip jar or charity your choice.
