Here’s Why Asbury Park is Underrated
Before I read this article I honestly had a feeling that Asbury Park would be listed. It's another in a growing list of accolades for AP.
The exact title of the article from Thrillist is "The Underrated American Beaches You Need To Hit This Summer."
I can't tell you how many people give me a look when I tell them that 94.3 The Point broadcasts from the Asbury Park boardwalk in the summer. To many, Asbury still has a stigma. But every year the town continues to evolve and improve.
We told you that the town is undergoing a multi-million dollar makeover, the popular Seaside Heights pizza giant Maruca's is opening up by the end of the year in Asbury, and finally, Asbury Lanes is back with a massive music lineup.
Lifestyle website Thrillist said about Asbury Park:
Underrated as a music city, Asbury Park is not. But as a place to get your tan on, it seems to unfairly lag behind other, hotter spots along the Jersey Shore. That’s a shame! The birthplace of the Boss has sand as scenic as anywhere on the shore, with a beachfront promenade redone with vibrant murals from local artists, and a newly revamped Asbury Lanes just beyond. The city’s comeback continued this year with the opening of the Asbury Hotel, the first one to open here in half a century, and home to a beachfront rooftop bar and movie space.
Well said! We'll see you this summer.
