So, Just How Lucky Are We In The Garden State?
There are a lot of reasons to want to be lucky here in the Garden State. We want to make every green light every day, we play the lottery like it's going out of style, and let's not forget, we are the home of one of the great gambling capitals of the world, Atlantic City. So, there are ample opportunities to need to be lucky, but when it comes to the actual data, just how lucky are here in New Jersey?
Well, at least according to one study, we're actually pretty damn lucky. Hey, how about that. We do well in a study we want to do well in. That doesn't exactly happen every day around here.
The study was released by 24/7 Wall St., and you are going to love the Garden State's ranking in it. Areas like life expectancy, deaths in traffic accidents and lottery winnings all went into the conclusion. Here's how we did in those categories.
We rank in the top 10 in all these areas. Let's take a closer look...
Traffic Fatalities...Despite our reputation for being a difficult state to drive in, (and with all the traffic and construction and congestion, it's a well deserved rap) in 2019 the Garden State ranks 4th lowest fatalities in the whole nation. The roads may be frustrating, but they are also surprisingly safe
Life expectancy at birth,. If you live in the Garden State, you can statistically expect to live a long life. The average life expectancy here is just a tick under 80 years, and that's good enough for the 9th highest ranking in the nation.
Lottery Winnings...Oddly enough, most people seem to be most concerned about this one? So, are you going to hit it big in the Garden State? Well, maybe. It turns out that in 2019, we lived in the state with the 6th highest chance for lottery winnings per adult. Not too shabby.
So, welcome to one of the luckiest states in the nation. Who would've ever thought it? Finally, we do good in a study we want to do good in.
