How Overweight Is New Jersey?
It's a sensitive topic for all of us, but weight plays such an important role in our health. So just how overweight is the Garden State.
It turns out New Jersey is not among the top 10 most overweight states, and as a matter of fact, we're not even in the top 20, according to a report at WalletHub. That is a bit of a relief to all of us.
So where does New Jersey rank in this study? The Garden State is ranked 29th, which means we almost didn't make the top 30 and that is pretty impressive and might even surprise you.
After all, we live in a state where there's a pizza place, a donut shop or a diner on every corner, so you could understand why there might be some surprised people. But let's remember, there's a gym at almost every corner, too.
Here are some New Jersey rankings from this study...
Obesity and Overweight Prevalence...29th
Health Consequences...22nd
Food and Fitness...22nd
So, it looks like New Jersey residents are eating better and staying in shape more than most in the United States so, for a change, congratulations New Jersey on the ranking. Keep up the good work.
