Asbury Park has one of the best downtown areas at the Shore, and that's not just my opinion; Asbury was ranked as one of the best beach towns for 2025.

The Rollercoaster of Local Venues
Some changes that Asbury Park has seen have been rollercoaster rides. like the House of Independents closing, and then just a few months later reopening, bringing live music back to Cookman Avenue.
The Closure of Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten
Another change that happened a few years ago was the permanent closure of the Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten at the beginning of 2025.
Asbury Social: The New Spot Opening in 2026
It now appears as though there are big plans for the former Festhalle and Biergarten, and it's stirring up a lot of excitement.
Over the past few weeks, teasers have made their way across social media advertising something called Asbury Social, and there's not too much info on what Asbury Social will be, except that it's going to be moving into the former home of the Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten.
Rooftop Bar and Full-Service Restaurant Coming Soon
According to Patch, Asbury Social will be opening sometime in 2026 and will be the newest bar addition to the Jersey Shore.
Much like the Festhalle and Biergarten, Asbury Social will feature a rooftop bar that's open seasonally, as well as a full-service restaurant.
It's a great location, and hopefully will be a fantastic addition to one of Jersey's fun little towns.
