I live close to this building in Bayville and it's so sad to drive by. And, it's creepy looking at night.

What an awesome location for something great at the Jersey Shore! Marshes are all around it with a beautiful location right on the water.

The land was purchased in the 1930s or maybe before that. The facilities were a high-frequency, shortwave radio transmitting station providing telephone high-seas service to ships at seas and to overseas locations under the call sign WOO, according to www.long-lines.net.

There were antennas and poles once surrounding the marshlands. They were removed several years ago and the property was donated to the Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge, according to patch.com.

The building is so run down and I believe every window has been broken. There is a fence around the building in Bayville, right on the edge of Ocean Gate.

If the building was donated to Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge, why aren't they fixing it up for something fantastic like a teaching place? It's such an unbelievably beautiful spot right along the bay. I believe the building sits very close to sea level, so maybe that's why nothing has been done. So, if that's the case, how about just removing it?

Every time I drive on Bayview in Bayville, I think it would be the perfect building for a haunted house in the fall. It would make the perfect haunted house.

It's truly unfortunate that it was so damaged so badly over the years. But, what would you like to see if there's any hope for something to be put there?

What do you think about this idea?

Recently, I was asking the question to Bayville residents and Ocean Gate residents, "Wouldn't it be a great idea to have a boat taxi near the abandoned building to Seaside?" It would be so great for us locals. It could be a taxi from Island Heights, Pine Beach, Toms River, Ocean Gate, and Bayville. Great idea, right?

LOOK: 50 famous memes and what they mean

With the infinite number of memes scattered across the internet, it's hard to keep track. Just when you've grasped the meaning of one hilarious meme, it has already become old news and replaced by something equally as enigmatic. Online forums like Tumblr, Twitter, 4chan, and Reddit are responsible for a majority of meme infections, and with the constant posting and sharing, finding the source of an original meme is easier said than done. Stacker hunted through internet resources, pop culture publications, and databases like Know Your Meme to find 50 different memes and what they mean. While the almost self-replicating nature of these vague symbols can get exhausting, memes in their essence can also bring people closer together—as long as they have internet access.
