Jackson Police charge woman for leaving 2-year old in hot car
Jackson Police have charged a 28-year old woman who left her 2-year old child sitting alone in a hot car last Friday.
Police responded to Bennetts Mills Plaza on West County Line Road around 3:00 pm and found the child who was showing the symptoms of being left in a hot vehicle.
First Aid responded to check the child and nothing major is being reported.
The 28-year old driver and mother of the child told officers she only went in the store for 5-minutes and left the child behind in the vehicle because she didn't have a mask for the child to wear inside the store.
Jackson Police then arrested the mother and charged her with 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child, failure to secure the child properly in a child seat and driving with an expired license.
DCPP was contacted and the child was turned over to a family member.
