Friendly Shopping Etiquette Reminders Frenzied Jersey Shore Shoppers May Need

Sometimes shopping at the Jersey Shore is like watching an episode of "Good People Behaving Badly". I'd like to say we don't need the reminder about last-minute shopping etiquette here at the Jersy Shore but I've seen what's going on at some stores in the past week, and guess what? We could use a little refresher course before things really get out of hand.

Guys. we get stressed this time of year, and the closer we get to the big day, the higher the tension. I get it. But it doesn't give us the freedom to act like we're the only ones going through it.

So here are some friendly reminders for all of us last-minute shoppers at the Jersey Shore...

Stop the Hoarding...We all know some items are tougher to get than others, so when you see the elusive item, buy only one if you need only one, and let others try to make their kids or grandkids happy.

Wait Your Turn.. Don't elbow, push or wiggle your way to the item you are looking for. Let people who got there first do their shopping in a reasonable amount of time, and then you can go.

Don't Make A Mess...We've all seen the conditions some of the retailers are in after a half-hour of frenzied shopping, and it's not the retailer's fault. I've seen people look at an item and just drop it wherever their hand happened to be. Come on people. We're a civilized bunch here at the Jersey Shore.

Park Like You Live Here...Much of our stress comes out of us in the mall parking lot around this time of year. Can we all make a promise not to act like bennies trying to get to the beach 3 seconds faster when we're trying to find a spot? If they got there first, it's their's and not all spots in the row you happen to be waiting in are automatically yours.

Have Some Common Courtesy. It's simple. Let's just take a small portion of the common courtesy we'd apply to any other time of the year, and sprinkle a little of it on our holiday season.

I know it's a stressful time of year, and we want to make everyone we love happy, but remember, we're all in the same boat. Just handle it like the wonderful Jersey Shore people we are, and we'll all do fine.
