If you often drive along Lloyd Road in Aberdeen, especially to get to the Parkway, take note of this!

Starting at 6 a.m. Monday, April 18th, the bridge over the Garden State Parkway will be replaced, leading to detours on the roadway.

Lloyd Rd. will be closed for all (including emergency) vehicles southbound from Gerard Ave./Clark St. to the Parkway South ramp until approximately May 6th. Then starting May 9th, northbound traffic will be detoured at Nutmeg Dr./Line Rd. You will not be able to access the Parkway north ramp, but the Parkway south ramp will be accessible. The project is expected to be fully completed, weather permitting, by May 27th.

Full detours will be posted, but you should expect delays and plan extra travel time.

Unfortunately this closure will inconvenience a lot of drivers, but I think we can all agree it would be much more inconvenient to have an old bridge crumble while people are driving on and below it.
