Let me paint you a picture.

I just finished up celebrating my birthday weekend. This weekend entailed of my mom, my dad, my sisters and even one or two friends to come down and safety visit.

One of our activities? To head to the Seaside Heights boardwalk and indulge in boardwalk food, a cocktail or two and of course, play in the Lucky Leo's Arcade!!!!

Listen...I can admit it. I may have just turned 29 years old but with certain things, I am still a child at heart.

While in the arcade, I was playing one of my favorite games. I don't know what it is called but it is where there is a spinning board with various holes. You press a button to drop a bouncy ball and whichever hole it lands in will tell you how many tickets you won.

I played for a bit until I hit the JACKPOT. I was obnoxiously dancing in front of the game, yelling and screaming and it was just a blast.

My family and I are discussing what to do for dinner while I am organizing my big stack of tickets and then my mom looks at me and says:

"Shouldn't you give that to a young kid?"

My first thought was, "Why?"

"Well don't you remember? When someone who is older gave you their prizes or tickets as a kid, it made your day!" she said.

"But this made my day!" I responded. "Plus, they have adult prizes in there too! Like hello....they have an air fryer!!"

"Nicole, it will cost you more to win it through the arcade versus going out to buy it!"

"IT'S NOT THE SAME!!!"

She rolled her eyes and walked away....typical.

I teared up just because the conversation came out of nowhere and got really intense really fast. The three mojitos I had prior also helped nothing.

Now here is the thing: I get where she is coming from. And in the past, I usually do give away my bouncy ball price or a few tickets when I haven't really won.

But I had a large stack that I wanted to use on myself but didn't really have time to pick anything out because it was FREEZING and we needed to get everyone out of the cold immediately.

Was it selfish? Yea, a little bit....but am I wrong? Should I really have given up my tickets?

What do you think?

Have a great day and stay warm.
