Two Manahawkin women are doing okay after the driver had some trouble with a turn on Nautilus Drive and Riptide Avenue Tuesday around 3:39 pm causing her to hit a parked car.

Stafford Police say both women inside the 2016 Chevrolet Cruz were wearing their seat-belts at the time of the crash.

The driver, Claire Gancarz, 81, was traveling south on Nautilus Drive approaching Riptide Avenue when while heading through a curve in the road, her vehicle left the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder portion of the roadway where she struck a parked 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe in front of 120 Nautilus Drive.

Gancarz and her front passenger Agatha Marchese, 81, received medical treatment following the crash by the Stafford Township First Aid Squad as a precaution.

Both women were transported to the Southern Ocean Medical Center by the Stafford Township First Aid Squad for further evaluation.

This accident is still under investigation by Patrolman Jillson, who was assisted on by Patrolman Oler, multiple bystanders and the Stafford Township Volunteer EMS.
