He created a problem and then fixed it, but now faces charges.

Evesham Police say a Marlton man who tried burning his own house down January 9  is charged with 3rd degree Arson and a disorderly persons offense for filing a false police report.

Scott Rimmer, 53, doused the fire he set to his Lady Diana Circle home before police arrived that morning around 10:30 am.

An investigation between Evesham Police, the Evesham Fire Department and the New Jersey State Police Polygraph Unit put together the facts and Rimmer was placed in handcuffs.

He was then released on his own recognizance.
