Wawa Closes Its Doors After 43 Years In The Community

Honestly, it's those smaller, older shops that have always been some of my favorites. Some of them don't even have restrooms, and there's certainly no room for a gas station, but I'm ok with that because there's usually a larger Wawa not too far away.

The smaller locations just feel like a bigger part of the neighborhood. It's that local Wawa, where you can quickly run in for a cup of coffee and be on your way in no time. There are a few near me that are always busy. I stop at one of them almost every morning for a quick cup of coffee and a few snacks for the day. It's all part of my daily routine.

One of my favorite Wawa locations is now closing after 43 years in business as the company shifts its focus to the larger stores with fuel stations, NJ.com reports.

It's all part of the plan to phase out the smaller neighborhood spots in favor of the bigger locations.

Some Wawa locations are temporarily closing for remodels, and I recently stopped into one that had just reopened. It's definitely much more modern now, but not every store is getting a refresh.

The Wawa in Marlton at 491 Route 73, at the intersection of Brick Boulevard, is closing for good. It's been open since 1983.

There was a sign posted saying the store's closing date is today, May 28th, and is directing its customers to nearby locations in Voorhees and Marlton, according to the article.

And even though those stores aren't too far away, it's still a bummer to see these smaller locations close, especially if it was your go-to spot!
