Modell’s at Monmouth Mall in Eatontown Closing

A mainstay and large part of Monmouth Mall is preparing to close for good.

Coming off the announcement that Modell's Sporting Goods in Englishtown is closing, we have learned that Modell's at Monmouth Mall is shutting down. The liquidation sale has begun.

The two-level store has signs saying "everything must go,"  "huge inventory blowout" and "nothing held back" in the windows.

As early as last week, the CEO of Modell's stated that he and the company were looking for investors to save existing stores. But on Friday the New York Post reported that Modell's has stopped looking for partners and would not be renegotiating the leases at its 140 stores.

In addition to Englishtown, the Woodbridge and West Berlin Modell's have announced closures.
