Could Chick-Fil-A’s Sauce Shortage Affect Jersey Shore Locations?
Between toilet paper, disinfectant products, gasoline, and even hair dye, there's been no shortage of shortages over the past year.
But now, a shortage is hitting one of your favorite fast-food joints - Chick-Fil-A! Today dropped the news that the chain is experiencing a shortage of its sauces. What does this mean for you? The next time you place an order at Chick-Fil-A, you may be limited on the number of free sauces you're allowed. Today says:
According to an email obtained by WTRF, the new restrictions limit customers to one sauce per entrée, two sauces per meal and three sauces per 30-count nuggets.
And here's an official comment from Chick-Fil-A's site:
Due to industrywide supply chain shortages, some items, like sauces, may be unavailable. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
You're probably wondering, why the shortage? The article explained:
A Chick-fil-A spokesperson told TODAY Food that the change is due to supply chain disruptions, which have led to shortages of goods, ranging from refrigerators to pepperoni, during the coronavirus pandemic. A similar statement was also posted on the Chick-fil-A website.
So, will this shortage affect Jersey Shore Chick-Fil-As? It's unclear. The Today article makes it sound like the sauce limit will happen at all locations, but the statement above from the chain sounds like it may only apply to some stores. I did check the Facebook pages for the Brick, Old Bridge, Hazlet, Howell, Monmouth Mall, and Freehold Raceway Mall locations, and there weren't any posts about the shortage so far, so maybe that's a good sign!
While I've never had Chick-Fil-A or its sauces since I'm a vegetarian, I can understand how this can be upsetting since I'm known to request extra dipping sauces for my french fries at fast food places. But, if you're denied a sauce, it's important to be respectful of Chick-Fil-A employees during this time, because this isn't their fault. And the company says they are working quickly to resolve the problem. Fingers crossed!
