During the summer, we tend to run towards the water but there are plenty of things to do throughout Monmouth County.

It’s a fair season.

Going to a county fair gives you a sense of community and strongly supports locals.

The Monmouth County Fair is about to wrap up for the 2022 season.  Filled with rides, games, and of course, fair food.

The festivities kicked off on Wednesday, July 27th, and will wrap on Sunday, July 30th.

Located at the East Freehold Show Grounds, each corner was packed with entertainment for the entire family.

According to the Monmouth County Parks site, you can see daily entertainment from the BMX stunt show, the Racing Pigs, the birds of prey, with plenty of animals and showcases from 4-H.

Each day was loaded up with fun entertainment from shows to music.

It has been a few years since I’ve been to the county fair, and I was quickly caught up walking through the exhibits and vendors.

Then popping out into the row of delicious fair food.  The smells of deep-fried goodness, make anyone’s mouth water.

Aside from the food, there were plenty of vendors to shop, see, and experience.

There were two sections of thrill rides.  One for the young adult in your life, to the little ones that may not be ready for the spinning and twisting.

There was one ride that stood out and really brought me back, and that was the infamous gravitron ride—always been a classic and a favorite.

You can even try your skills at a rock wall, showcase your strengths with two branches of our armed forces, and so much more.

This little gem in Freehold continues to be a summertime staple for many in Monmouth County.
