The team consists of Cynthia Guo, Ruby Guo, Patrick LeBlanc, Austin Liu, and Zachary Liu. The teens were challenged to use math to create formulas for healthy and affordable cafeteria lunches.

Led by HTHS math teacher Dr. Ray Eng, the team beat out more than 5,000 students nationwide to make it to the finals. They'll compete against 5 other teams, coming from Indiana, North Carolina, and Delaware.

Depending on how they place, the HTHS teammates could receive scholarships ranging from $2500 to $20,000. (There's no better math than subtracting from student loans!)

The event starts at 9 a.m. on the 28th, and you can watch it live online by clicking HERE.
