Monmouth County Freeholder Susan Kiley has been elected to serve as a member of the Mater Dei Prep Board of Trustees.

“I am truly honored to join the Mater Dei Prep Board of Trustees,” Freeholder Susan Kiley said. “As a graduate of Mater Dei Prep, I am excited to see what we can accomplish for the students, staff and administrators of the school.”

In the last year, Freeholder Kiley served as an alumnus liaison for the Women’s Leadership Initiative where she promoted advocacy and success for female students on campus.

The leadership group supports female sports and hosts workshops for women who are eager to sharpen their skills, such as resume writing, as they prepare for college and life after Mater Dei Prep.

“We asked the female students ‘what are the issues and how can the Women’s Leadership Group help,’” Freeholder Kiley said. “After a facilitated discussion with these girls, our goals for Mater Dei Prep’s female population were to empower, provide advocacy and leadership so these future graduates can contribute to the school’s strong legacy and beyond.”

Freeholder Kiley will also serve as the Chair of the Finance Committee for the independent Board of Trustees to ensure the school’s business strategy is executed appropriately.

“Freeholder Kiley clearly understands how important Mater Dei Prep is to the Bayshore community,” Randy MacDonald, Chairman of the Mater Dei Prep Board of Trustees, said. “Freeholder Kiley appreciates the unique causes of making college prep affordable to deserving students of all ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. She was the beneficiary of a terrific education at Mater Dei Prep and realizes these students are the future of Monmouth County.”

Mater Dei Prep is an independent, faith-based college preparatory high school that fosters individuality and growth within an intimate and inclusive community.
