Egg Harbor Police said that they responded to the Zion Road and Central Avenue area around 11:45 am Thursday morning in the Bargaintown section of the township in response to a motor vehicle crash.
Officers on scene learned that Joseph Falcone, 54, of Egg Harbor was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Zion Road when suddenly a 2012 Ford F-450 truck, driven by 39-year old William Wellington of Egg Harbor, tried making a left turn onto Central Avenue.
The truck crossed into the motorcycle's path and a serious collision ensued.
Falcone sustained multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the collision and police pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said Falcone was the only one who suffered any injuries in the crash.
Zion Road was closed and detoured for about 3-hours on Thursday afternoon so police could investigate the collision.
Egg Harbor Police Sergeant Lawrence Graham, Officer Robert Moran, and Officer Louis Poletis with the EHPD Traffic Safety Unit are investigating the crash.
