Neptune City, NJ has so many great restaurants, more than you may realize!
Neptune City a small borough with a lot of great food, businesses, summer events, and much more going on in this Monmouth County community!
Let's start with the Movie In The Park summer series now underway in Neptune City.
"We just had our first one on July 7, it's a six-movie series that we have, our Movie In The Park series, that we hold down at Memorial Park. Anybody who's familiar with the Neptune City area knows Memorial Park is a beautiful, waterfront park that we have that was dedicated back in the 1950s as a way to honor World War II Veterans when they came home," Neptune City Mayor Andrew Wardell told Townsquare Media on 'Shore Time with Vin and Dave' on 94.3 The Point and 105.7 The Hawk on Sunday morning.
Over the years, the borough has spent time helping beautify the park, Wardell said, to make it what it is today.
"We've built this beautiful area with a gazebo, we purchased an inflatable screen with a projector system and a sound system and host the movies out there right in the park. People bring their own chairs, you can have your own snacks, bring your dinner down there if you want -- you get to come and kind of sit at sunset right before the movie comes on," Wardell said. "Not only is it quite picturesque but you get to come and watch movies that are usually geared towards children and families."
Encanto was the first movie, the rest are being decided by people submitting their votes to the borough.
"Fingers crossed somebody picks Little Giants again this year," Wardell said.
It's rain, or, shine this summer as well.
"This year, we've decided that if it does in fact rain, we're just going to move it to the Community Center and it'll be on the same night," Wardell said. "We have a big hall in our Community Center."
If you choose to bring your dinner to the movie that night or go grab dinner any other night or food during the day, there is no shortage of options for a bite out in Neptune City.
"Neptune City -- it's an amazing little place, it's a one-square-mile town, most people confuse us with Neptune Township and think we're the same town -- one of the things people don't realize is that we're a little foody town, we have so many little restaurants in town here," Wardell said. "Just recently, a few months ago, I can't remember which website it was, but it says 'New Jersey Towns You Wouldn't Know Have Some Of The Best Food', and Neptune City was 3rd on that list. It was on it because of places like Pete & Elda's, because of Kelly's Tavern -- those are two staples that we've had for a very long time. We also have Patrick's Grille in town as well, and we have some of the best pizza, others -- we have Bruno's Pizzeria, Santino's Pizzeria, you have Michael's Grille over there, you have Molinari's, we have Lobo De Roma -- we have all these places in town that are fantastic. We have a new vegan bakery in town, Casual Vegan. We cater to everybody!"
