Beloved New Jersey Chinese Restaurant Reopens Doors After Unexpected Closure
For as long as I can remember, one of my favorite go-to has been Chinese food.
In my 20s, I moved around the country. It was a great experience, but every move meant I had to find my favorite restaurants again.
It was always a great pizza / Italian joint, and of course, Chinese.
I'm personally a fan of a Chinese restaurant that, maybe, has one table, definitely not made for dine-in. It's strictly for take-out.
Usually, that's the rule.
Then I found this location after moving north of the Seaside Heights location.
The food is delicious.
Unfortunately, a few months ago, this sign was taped to the window back in April.
My favorite spot in town was closed. The statement was very open-ended but it ready "Due to an unexpected family emergency, the restaurant will be closed until further notice..."
Usually that line "until further notice" means it is done. Finished. Game over.
Then a few weeks ago, I noticed a beautiful sight. As I was driving up 35, I noticed the "Open" light on and all of the signs off of the windows.
The Golden Gate Express is located at 1851 NJ-35, Seaside Heights, NJ 08751
The restaurant I’m talking about sits right there, just north of the entrance to Seaside Heights. You cannot miss it with the big yellow awning. Nestled between 7th and 8th Ave off 35 north
The biggest concern was that this restaurant was never going to open again, especially when seeing a note that says "until further notice" but it reopened and we are extremely excited about it.
