You can't believe everything you read on social media, but if you believe what you read in the wake of the recent snowstorm, then New Jersey has some nice people living here.

New Jersey's Generosity Came Shining through After The Snowstorm

I read so many people reaching out for someone to help them, or their elderly parent, hoping someone nearby could help them dig out of the mess.

It's a helpless feeling to be unable to get to a loved one when they are in need, so anyone who lent a helping hand was a hero.

Local folks answered the call time and time again this week, and that was heartwarming.

Some On Social Media Criticized The Snow Removers

Of course, some criticized these people for charging for the snow removal, but I think we all have to make a living, and if the rate was fair, it seemed like a win for everyone. Some comments showed the true spirit of having great New Jersey neighbors.

Angels live among us in Brick. A fellow (Brian) who lives in my Neighborhood came with his backhoe and cleared the snow at the base of my driveway. He also cleared snow for others. I am so grateful as my husband has surgery tomorrow and I really needed the car cleared to get him to Ocean Medical Center. Got to love the Brick Community

Of course, it's a New Jersey snowstorm, so there has to be someone overcharging for their service, and we're sure there were.

Those people deserve the criticism, and frankly, should be ashamed of themselves. But we're celebrating the generous people who got folks out of a tough jam for a fair rate, and those amazing neighbors who incredibly helped out for free.
