Public and private beaches and boardwalks must enforce...
Social distancing
Capacity restrictions
No benches or tables
No contact sports
Limited restroom occupancy
In addition to these current restrictions, boaters need to know that no tying of boats together are currently permitted to avoid gathering with too many people. Are these restrictions going to be in place this weekend?
The answer is probably not. But News 12 is among many reporting the state may lift its indoor mask mandate just in time for the weekend, and that;s a pretty big deal. That should make people fell a little more normal, and it should make business owners a little happier too.
The announcement is expected today, and it's projected vaccinated people will not have to mask indoors starting this Friday, but we'll have to wait for the announcement to make it official.
We all see the improving numbers in our state, and even if he restrictions aren't loosened as much as we'd hoped by the beginning of summer, that doesn't mean it won't happen sometime during the summer.
And for so many business owners all over the Jersey Shore, that day can not come soon enough. But with the beginning of summer, there is always a feeling of optimism, and this year we all may have to dig a little deeper, but that optimism is there.
