April 21st is a day that'll likely be remembered for a long time to come in Jersey.

It was the day that Marijuana was legally allowed to be sold and consumed in the Garden State.

New Jersey, according to The Guardian was one of the first states on the East Coast to legalize recreational marijuana use for people over the age of 21.

For the most part, you can buy and consume marijuana, CBD, and THC anywhere in New Jersey, so long as you're using it in your own private residence, and are 21.

I say for the most part because up until recently there was one city that was left out of the initial wave of recreational marijuana sales.

This place is a major tourist hub too!

Now, personally, smoking Marijuana is not really my thing.

I have no problem if you're into it, and I was ecstatic when it was legalized mainly because of what it could do for the economy.

I know, I'm an exciting guy.

I'll admit though, I've looked into using CBD to help with post work out soreness.

Now it looks like the city that was left out of the recreational rollout, is now getting its own "green zone" for recreational marijuana sales.

I was surprised to learn this place was left out too, I've only been to this city a handful of times in my life but it seems like the kind of place that would have had recreational marijuana before anyone.

So, What New Jersey City Is Rolling Out A Green Zone?

It's a city that was once one of the best places in the state to go and hang on the boardwalks, do some serious shopping, and take some big risks at the poker table.

Atlantic City is getting ready to open up a Green Zone to try and boost its economy as well as try to provide jobs for residents.

According to the Inquirer, the Atlantic City Cannabis Green Zone is most of the inner city:

The zone includes Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Avenue from Boston to Maryland Avenue, plus the Orange Loop District, an area of bars, restaurants and music that runs from Tennessee and New York Avenue from Pacific to 200 feet from the Boardwalk ~ The Inquirer

Can You Buy Recreational Marijuana On The Atlantic City Boardwalk?

This was actually a big reason why AC was left out of the initial wave; City Council voted to ban recreational marijuana from the boardwalk.

That's still the case.

You'll only be able to purchase recreational marijuana in the designated green zone within the city.

I know Atlantic City has its share of problems these days but hopefully, this new plan can help to revitalize its downtown area.
