Experts are strongly discouraging surfers or swimmers at this time. If you are caught up in a rip current, relax and float...you'll want to swim parallel to the current to release yourself from it as soon as possible, if you are not a strong enough swimmer to do that wait until it spits you out and then swim to the side and back to shore. It is important that you don't fight the current.
