New Jersey’s ‘Most Romantic’ Town is Embarrassing

The website OpenTable just released its list of the 'Most Romantic Cities.' You won't believe what town topped Jersey and came in fourth overall!

Atlantic City. First a quick disclaimer. I love Atlantic City. AC is the best town for crazy fun nights you don't remember, even if you want to keep it low key, it's a cool spot. Most romantic? Not quite.

The way OpenTable came up with their top 25 was the use of three variables: the percentage of restaurants rated “romantic” according to OpenTable diner reviews; the percentage of tables seated for two; and the percentage of people who dined out for Valentine’s Day.

It's one thing if they came out and said that they were using restaurants to come up with their top 25, but to solely use that to determine romance is laughable.

Atlantic City has some fantastic and romantic restaurants, but I'm sorry, AC is not the first place that comes to mind when I think romance.

Here are my choices:

The Breakers on the Ocean - Spring Lake

Ocean Place - Long Branch

These are just a couple of the many JERSEY SHORE locations that trump (no pun intended) Atlantic City any day.
