The article sites Clinton as the friendliest town in the Garden State. Clinton is located in Hunterdon County. Clinton is located on the South Branch of the Raritan River in the Raritan Valley region. It is a picturesque town that I have visted and found to be very nice, just like the article said. It’s a charming town in New Jersey.

One of the highlights in Clinton is the Red Mill Museum Village, which is a great part of the area to visit when you go to Clinton. The Red Mill was built by Ralph Hunt. Hunt built the earliest section of this Mill to process wool sometime around 1810. Make sure you put this section of Clinton on your list of “must see” places in Clinton.

According to Only In Your State, “Make plans to visit Clinton, where you’ll find shops, businesses, restaurants, and events! During holidays, the town comes alive with spirit and festivities, and in the warm months, live music fills the air. No wonder Clinton is considered one of the best, most charming towns in the Garden State!

Clinton is about a 90 minute drive from Ocean County, so grab a cup of coffee and take a spin up to Hunterdon County and check out New Jersey’ nicest town, I think you will enjoy and during warm weather months there are many festivals and outdoor concerts to enjoy.

LOOK: Here are the best lake towns to live in

Many of the included towns jump out at the casual observer as popular summer-rental spots--the Ozarks' Branson, Missouri, or Arizona's Lake Havasu--it might surprise you to dive deeper into some quality-of-life offerings beyond the beach and vacation homes. You'll likely pick up some knowledge from a wide range of Americana: one of the last remaining 1950s-style drive-ins in the Midwest; a Florida town that started as a Civil War veteran retirement area; an island boasting some of the country's top public schools and wealth-earners right in the middle of a lake between Seattle and Bellevue; and even a California town containing much more than Johnny Cash's prison blues.
