JBJ Soul Kitchen has been a brilliant and beloved idea that has helped so many and has been embraced by Red Bank, Toms River, and the surrounding communities as well.

JBJ Soul Kitchen Reaches An Amazing Milestone

Recently, JBJ Soul Kitchen was named the best celebrity-owned restaurant in America in a report from the New York Post, and it's all to keep the community fed.

It's a well-deserved honor for Jon and Dorothea Bon Jovi who have been passionate about feeding those with food insecurities in a way that maintains dignity for all involved.

I have been witnessing their passion for years and have had the good fortune to attend several special events at both locations.

This Is A Heartwarming And Amazing Milestone

So, when I heard the news that the combined locations of Red Bank and Toms River had reached the milestone of serving 200,000 amazing meals, it warmed my heart.

While we all wish that food insecurity would be a thing of the past, that number represents a lot of people being helped.

It also means a lot of hard work from all involved, including all the generous volunteers for their love and support over the years.

Here's What Dorothea & Jon Bon Jovi Said In Reaction To The Milestone

Here's a statement from Jon & Dorothea in the press release about the milestone,

When we first opened, people did not understand our Pay-It-Forward model. We are not a soup kitchen, We are not a pay-what-you-want-restaurant. We are a unique Pay It Forward model where those who are unable to pay, volunteer their time. Those who can pay, pay for their meal and donate to pay it forward. Everyone has the same amazing meal. Everyone has the smae fantastic experience. The model has now been proven time and time again for well over a decade.

The 200,000 total only includes dining room meals and doesn't include the many meals provided during Sandy, Covid-19, and for warming shelters and overnight shelters.
