Experts Report Two Massive Sharks Off New Jersey Coast: Scot and Anne Bonney
According to experts, two huge sharks have recently been lurking in the waters of New Jersey.
According to the Daily Voice of Morris and Sussex County, the folks at Ocearch have detected not one but two sharks swimming in the waters off the New Jersey coast.
Their names seem so sweet, Anne Bonney and Scot, but we're talking about a combined weight of over 2000 pounds of shark.
One of the massive sharks, Scot was detected in the Hudson Canyon in early November. He is a huge 12-foot white shark who weighs about 1600 pounds. He was detected on November 6th and 7th.
Anne Bonney was detected on November 14th off the coast of Toms River and Brick. She is a white shark measuring over 9 feet and weighing 425 pounds.

More recent pings of the larger shark, Scot, have him now swimming off the coast of North Carolina.
It's no surprise to most of us that these sharks swim past New Jersey often, but for many, there is comfort in the phrase "out of sight, out of mind".
Ocearch has done amazing work tagging these sharks so we can learn so much more about them, and because of it, we know so much more about these creatures, including where they are swimming.
We all remember the saga of Mary Lee, the great white who pinged along the New Jersey coast several years ago and got so popular she even had her own Facebook page.
For the record, the latest shark ping off New Jersey was Anne Bonney's on November 14th.
