Oh No! An Extremely Popular Store is Closing in Monmouth County

Will it close in Ocean County, too? I hate when a business closes here at the Shore.

I was talking to one of my friends yesterday and she told me she was crying now that this store, the Disney Store, at the Freehold Raceway Mall is closing permanently. She would always stop by the mall after her doctor's appointment with her daughter and head to the Disney Store after. We've heard rumors and wondered if any Disney Stores here in Ocean and Monmouth County would be affected, well now we know.

The Disney Store at the Freehold Raceway Mall is closing on or before March 23rd, 2021.

Disney made the announcement the other week that they were closing 20% of their stores to focus on e-commerce, according to CNBC, which means they will focus more on shopping online. There are about Disney Stores throughout the United States, they will be closing at least 60 of them.

My hope was that none of the stores here in the Shore region would be closed. The Disney Store at the Jackson Premium Outlets in Ocean County will remain open. Hopefully, this store will remain open.

I'm a huge Disney fan. The Disney Store is where I go to get my Disney fix. If you've never been to a Disney Store, you walk through the doors and you can see clips of Disney cartoons on the walls. Disney merchandise is everywhere. Everything from stuffed animals, to clothing, and toys - all DISNEY. Also, in the middle of most stores, kids were able to watch cartoon clips and able to relax while their parents shop. They would celebrate birthdays for anyone that came in. I remember I was at the Freehold Raceway's Disney Store and I told the employees it's my daughter's birthday. What a celebration they through for her. They put a birthday cap on her, sang, and made her feel she was in a Disney cartoon. It was amazing, something we will never forget. One thing I do know is that the Disney Store at the Freehold Raceway Mall is the biggest here in this area.
