A Major Clothing Retailer is Opening a Store in Howell

This week we've been plagued with news of store closings. It's a nice change of pace to hear about a pretty big clothing outlet coming to Monmouth County.

There has been been a lot of speculation about what is going into (and coming out of) The Howell Commons Shopping Plaza on Route 9. The picture above is currently hanging in the window of the old Dress Barn.

Frankly, I'm really kind of surprised Old Navy is interested in opening up here. First of all, you've got a location in Brick and Toms River to the south and a giant location at the Freehold Raceway Mall to the north. Plus, as has been the trend lately, brick and mortar retailers have been dropping like flies.

On the bright side, it's refreshing to hear that a business is opening. Plus, more jobs is always a good thing.
