Is It Okay To Publish Someone Else's License Plate On Social Media?

I get the concept. Someone has done something so incredibly stupid and dangerous on the road that you need to seek some justice.

If that is the scenario, it's one thing. But isn't it a little dangerous to only get one side of the story, and just believe that?

I think most people only post these things when they are mad, and are giving true stories on their posts.

At that point, some people would have an axe to grind, and who knows what they'd post, right? You might think you wouldn't do it, but do you trust everyone the same way? It seems like a slippery slope we should all try to avoid.

It seems that it is legal, but if you do post someone's license plate with any type of accusation, you run the risk of being sued.

Wouldn’t it be safer and more appropriate to contact the authorities and allow them to handle the situation?
