I once drove alone with my kids to Pennsylvania for a vacation. I pulled up to a gas station in the middle of Lancaster County and realized......I have NO IDEA how to pump my own gas!!!!!

As other patrons chuckled while I asked for instructions, I defended the fact that I was raised in New Jersey and how would I possibly know how to pump my own gas when I am not allowed to do it in my state?!!!!!

Of course any guy would laugh at this 'cause guys are born knowing all kinds of car stuff, but I really never.....ever......felt a want or need to get out and pump gas. So it is no surprise to me that a new Fairleigh Dickinson University Publicmind Poll shows that 63 percent of those who responded LIKE New Jersey's law that only station attendants can pump gas. (Oregon is the only other state in the nation that doesn't let you pump your own gas.)

Aside from not wanting my hands to smell like gasoline or the fact that I would loath ruining my hair in the rain or suffer freezing fingers in the cold or heat in the summer from having to stand outside my car pumping gas, I have IMPORTANT THINGS TO GET DONE while I wait for my tank to fill up! I mean, when else would I file my nails, clean out my glove box, or check on junk mail?!
