Is it Too Early for Pumpkin Spice in Ocean County, NJ? Or Are You Excited?
Since when did pumpkin coffee become such a controversial topic?
Dunkin' released their pumpkin menu on August 17th, and yesterday, August 30th, Starbucks followed suit.
For many people (myself included), pumpkin spice drop day is one of the best days of the year. Many of us are stocking up on our limited-time-only favorite treat. I've already had my 3rd Pumpkin Spice latte of the season, and it's still August. And I know I'll enjoy plenty more where that came from.
But for others, even the smallest mention of the beloved fall flavor is enough to send them into a rage. I've seen posts objecting to all things pumpkin, saying "it's still summer!"
Personally, I feel you should do what makes you happy. I understand that people don't want to rush the seasons and want to soak up every last second of the warm weather (I hate snow). But why can't we let the pumpkin spicers enjoy their favorite drinks in peace?
I also think a very easy solution to this "problem" would be for coffee chains to offer pumpkin-flavor coffee all year round. If we make it more of a normal flavor, there would be less of a spectacle about it each time it's released. Who do we have to talk to in order to make that happen?
If anyone needs me, I will be standing firmly on team pumpkin spice. Just don't go overboard with it (I'll pass on the pumpkin spice Pringles.)
Are you a pumpkin spice lover or a pumpkin spice hater?
