Millions have been raked in from recreational marijuana revenue since it was legalized in New Jersey.
At first, a lot of towns in the Garden State said no to recreational sales taking place within their borders.
But now that they see the green is raking in the green, everyone is jumping on the marijuana band wagon.
All aboard!
According to NJ.com, news has just broken that six new weed stores are going to be opening in New Jersey...and I am personally thrilled that this trend is thriving.
Yes, some of these openings are set to take place at the Jersey Shore!
These new additions will bring New Jersey's count up to 18 marijuana stores open for business.
Let's take a look.
First, Curaleaf in Edgewater Park, which has encountered multiple delays due to zoning and construction issues for recreational marijuana sales, finally got the green light as of today, May 25th at 10:00 AM.
On top of that, according to NJ.com, weed stores will also be opening in Woodbridge, Union, Lodi, Montclair and multiple new openings in Eatontown!
According to Patch.com, the Garden State Dispensary located at 59 Main Street in Eatontown will, "expand into recreational sales in the next few weeks."
“Central Jersey has been under-served during the initial launch of adult-use cannabis, with only two dispensaries serving a population of 3.4 million people up until now,” said Rob Vanisko, spokesman for AYR Wellness according to Patch.com.
Under served is an UNDER statement.
So when will recreational sales officially begin at the Garden State Dispensary?
“We do not yet have a definitive date just yet for conversion,” added Vanisko. “Dispensaries approved on April 11 officially opened for adult-use on April 21, so we are hopeful for a timeline in that range.”
So from approval to opening, officials are hoping that no more then ten days goes by. Fingers crossed.
