It's a tradition 61 years in the making, and it returns this weekend: the Red Bank Sidewalk Sale!

Starting Friday, retailers will take some of their merch to the sidewalks, offering discounts and deals -- usually with more on sale inside the store as well! Plus, there's free parking throughout the town all weekend!

Additionally, street artists will be performing throughout the downtown area at peak times to entertain the crowds.

I went around to a few participating businesses yesterday with Amanda Lynn, Program Manager of Red Bank RiverCenter to get a little preview of this weekend's bargains, and I'm actually really excited to shop!

My first stop was Cabana 19, at 18 White St. (just a few doors down from Broad St.) It's described as a 'beachy boutique' and has everything from beach-themed decor to clothes, jewelry, and more.

Owner Kristen Winters tells me they'll have plenty of merchandise for sale right on the sidewalk, but they're also offering 15% off everything in the store from Friday to Sunday. I have my eye on a couple of super cute Jersey-themed shirts and some adorable Red Bank magnets!

Next up, we headed to Earth Spirit on Monmouth St. Earth Spirit is home to all kinds of cool New Age-y items from music and books to clothing, healing crystals, incense, essential oils, and so much more. They also offer workshops and classes of all kinds. It's a very cool store to walk around in, and owners Joycelyn Midose and her son Chris are incredibly friendly, interesting people!

Earth Spirit will offer 20% off jewelry and selected gemstones, and they'll also have psychic readings at a rate of $12 for 10 minutes. Especially worth checking out are their large crystal pieces.

My final stop was at Seldin's Trinkets on Front St., at the intersection of Broad St. This store has a fabulous display of jewelry and watches of all kinds, but beyond that there are some very cool items, that are truly best described by the word 'trinkets.' Gorgeous wooden kaleidoscopes, hand-blown glass paperweights, decorative art pieces made of utensils, engraved items for bridal party gifts, and lots more.

Jamey and Norman Seldin offer plenty of services too, like ear piercing, custom jewelry design, jewelry repair, engraving and more. For the Sidewalk Sale, they'll be offering discounts on select merchandise both inside and outside the store.

Other participating businesses include Candy's Cottage, Sweetest Sin Boutique, The Spice and Tea Exchange, Mustillo's, Rumson China & Glass, and much more.

The Red Bank Sidewalk Sale runs Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Specific store hours may vary.) Get more info, including street artist performance times and a full list of participating businesses at RedBank.org.
