Shore Conference Tournament - Round of 16

1-Rumson-Fair Haven 17, 17-Brick Memorial 2

Senior attackman Connor Spagnuola erupted for a career-high eight goals and 10 points to lead the Bulldogs (13-4) to an emphatic win over the Mustangs (11-4).

Braiden Spagnuola and John Swain each totaled a goal and two assists and Cole Cashion had a goal and an assist. Grayson Goldin, Zach Iwan, Bryce Devlin, Dan Garvey, Ryan Giardino, and Philip Passalaqua each scored once. Tommy French chipped in with two assists and Aiden Stevenson got on the scoresheet with one assist.

Spagnuola also won 10 of 12 face-offs while Noah Beacher won 10 of 11 at the face-off X. Will Setteducate (3 saves) and Alex Baret (4 saves) split time in goal.

Dylan Rinyak and Dan Aulisi scored goals and Paul Mazzeo made 17 saves for Brick Memorial.

The defending champion Bulldogs will host 9th-seeded Red Bank Regional in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

 

Nondivisional

No. 8 Holmdel 16, Manalapan 3

The Hornets (11-6) set the tone early with a seven-goal first quarter to put away the Braves (7-8).

Senior attackman Evan Cohen sank five goals, senior midfielder Jaden Gallo scored four times, and senior attackman Kyle Kapcsos tallied three goals and three assists to lead the way. Senior midfielder Jared Battaglia totaled one goal and four assists, senior attackman Aidan Lagana had two goals and one assist, and sophomore midfielder Will Gilfillan had a goal and two assists.

John Franzini and Jack Powers chipped in with one assist each while Andrew Arredondo (11 saves) and Casey Dowd (1 save) shared time in goal.

 

St. Rose 10, Toms River North 4

Senior midfielder Colin Westhoven scored four goals, assisted on another, and won 15 of 18 face-offs and senior goalie Chris Devoy made 10 saves to lead the Purple Roses (10-6) to a victory over the Mariners (3-12).

Also for St. Rose, John Harold had a hat trick, James Magrini tallied two goals and two assists, and Dan Bair Had a goal and an assist. Jeff Vitale added one assist.

 

Toms River East 10, Donovan Catholic 8

Junior midfielder Luke Barber scored five times and was one of six Raiders to score in their win over the Griffins.

Dermot Murphy. made an astounding 28 saves for Donovan Catholic while Randy Spurling and Andrew Baltus each scored four times to lead the offense. Connor Durante added three assists.

Toms River East is now 7-6 while Donovan Catholic fell to 4-11.

 

Marlboro 8, Brick 0

Zach Mendes and Noah Gothelf each registered two goals and one assist and DJ Silvia made three saves as the Mustangs (4-11) locked down the Dragons (2-13).

Kyle Potterton, Michael Giancaspro, Aiden Dubinski, and Ben Rothman added one goal apiece. Potterton also collected a team-high 10 ground balls while William Oplinger picked up nine ground balls and Mendes had eight ground balls.
