Shore Conference Tournament - Preliminary Round

15-St. Rose 8, 18-Toms River East 6

Senior midfielder Colin Westhoven had two goals and one assist, senior goalie Chris DeVoy made 12 saves, and junior LSM James Vitale played a strong game to lead the Purple Roses (8-5) to a rain-soaked victory over the Raiders (6-5) to advance in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Senior midfielder John Harold and junior attackman Sean Lattimer each scored twice while junior attackman James Magrini added a goal and two assists. Senior attackman Dan Bair scored once and junior middie Mike Conlon provided one assist.

Junior middie Luke Barber scored three times and senior midfielder Noah Raimonde scored twice to lead Toms River East. Junior middie Maxson Huttemmann had a goal and an assist and senior middie Zachary Laprise and freshman middie Nate Cummings had one assist each. Junior goalie Lester Cook made nine saves.

St. Rose will play at second-seeded Manasquan on Monday in the round of 16.

Shore Conference Tournament - Round of 16

5-Southern 15, 12-Jackson Memorial 3

Senior attackman Jack Kolbe sank four goals and assisted on four others and junior midfielder Joey DeYoung recorded his 100th career point to lead the Rams (12-1) past the Jaguars (9-5) and into the SCT quarterfinals.

Southern raced out to an 8-0 lead after the first quarter and led 10-1 at halftime and 14-1 heading into the fourth quarter.

Senior attackman Ryan Sininsky and junior attackman Hayden Lucas each scored twice and DeYoung had a goal and three assists. Senior midfielder Jake Washco had a goal and two assists while senior FOGO Kurt Falk won 18 of 21 face-offs and also supplied a goal and an assist. Senior middie Zach Wascho also had a goal and an assist and sophomore attackman Konnor Forlai and freshman Liam Griffin each scored once. Tyler Sininsky (4 saves) and Nick Roesch (3 saves) split time in goal.

Drew Barocas, Matt DeRosa, and Justin Perillo had one goal each for Jackson. Hunter Olsen (12 saves) and Bryan Quackenbush (5 saves) shared time in goal.

Southern will play the winner of Saturday's scheduled game between 13th-seeded Manalapan and 4th-seeded Christian Brothers Academy in the quarterfinals.

 

Nondivisional

Jackson Liberty 14, Central 0

Sophomore attackman Paul Capozzi netted five goals and one assist to reach 100 career points and lead the Lions (5-10) to a victory over the Golden Eagles (0-13).

Billy Schuler added two goals and three assists, Sean Mazon scored twice, Reese Stewart had a goal and an assist, and Hunter Fancher, Peter Abline, Joshua Friedman, and Thomas Rayside each scored once. Matthew LaBianca and Evan Canning split time in goal and made one save each. Connor D'Andrea won 16 of 18 at the face-off X and picked up a game-high seven ground balls.

Hutner Bentley made four saes and Brady Etzkorn made one save for Central.

 

Nonconference

Donovan Catholic 18, Ewing 5

Junior midfielder Connor Durante tallied a career-high 11 points on two goals and nine assists to lead the Griffins (4-10) past the Blue Devils (2-9).

Sophomore attackman Jack Farlekas also delivered a career-high five goals. Randy Spurling had a hat trick, Sonny Vanesko had two goals and two assists, and Pet Dellane had two goals and one ssist. Andrew BValtus won 11 of 12 face-offs and supplied a goal and three assists while Lucas Bova had a goal and an assist. Peyton Calvetto and Robert Armstrong each scored once. Dermot Murphy (7 saves) and Dom Rocci Ciniglio (2 saves) shared time in goal.
