One of the most iconic attractions at the Jersey Shore is about to get a heck of a lot bigger.

If you have ever walked along the Asbury Park boardwalk, there is no doubt in my mind that you have spotted this local business.

It is the Silverball Museum Arcade and there are a few pieces of great news to share.

If you aren't familiar with this hotspot, it is an arcade filled with the OG classic arcade games with some ranging back to the 1960's!

It is more affordable than your typical arcade as well.

All of the games are set to free play. Instead, you pay based on how much time you spend playing:

Half Hour - $10.00

One Hour - $15.00

Half Day (Up to 6 Hours) - $17.50

All Day - $20.00

All of this is nothing short if iconic...and it is about to get even better....

I was lucky enough to speak with Patty Barber, the senior vice president of Silverball, who gave us all the exclusive details. (Thanks Patty!)

The first piece of news is that Silverball Museum has taken over the building next door and will be expanding as well as giving the entire arcade a face lift.

"We are still keeping that fun, retro and chaotic feel of the 80's but with a little extra pizzazz," Barber explained.

The snack bar that once occupied the game floor is being moved into the new building with some noticeable improvements.

"Previously, our café was just a snack bar and Silverball quickly outgrew it," Barber said. "The new café will now have a full kitchen that will offer everyone's favorite boardwalk fare including our best-selling pizza, chicken fingers, fries, ice cream and nonalcoholic beverages."

Silverball will also have a new, more spacious party area that will be located directly behind the new café.

The kids (and maybe some of you adults) will love this.

The open space on the arcade floor that was previously used for the café and party room will now be filled with even more games!

"We are bringing in more ski ball, we are adding basketball, air hockey and other games that we know are popular," Barber said.

In addition, there will be pieces of artwork displayed around the arcade showing the history of Asbury Park.

Patty sent me a few photos to give you guys a sneak peek at what is to come but don't worry, more is on the way!

Here is what we have so far:

A Sneak Peek At The New & Improved Silverball Museum Arcade In Asbury Park

Thank you to Patty for all the information and the photos.

I've left the biggest piece of information for last: when can you experience the new and improved Silverball Museum Arcade?

The hope is that everything can open within the next few weeks but no specific grand opening date has been set!

Patty told me she would alert me the second a day is set!

"We have grown into an icon on the boardwalk and we've had people travel near and far to come visit," Barber said. "A couple vacationing all the way up in Maine made a point to drive down after hearing about us. The support has been insane."

Silverball Museum Arcade is located at 1000 Ocean Ave N in Asbury Park.
