Your Full Guide For Six Flag’s 30-Hour Coffin Challenge
So Matt Ryan already gave you the inside scoop of what to expect for Six Flag's Fright Fest for 2019....but.....
One of the newest yet most extreme attractions is the 30 Hour Coffin Challenge which will be returning for the second year in a row!
I participated in this challenge last year but if you take a look at the rules, Six Flags is looking to make it much harder.
Here are all the details you need to know:
From 1:00 PM on Sunday October 13th until 7:00 PM on Monday, October 14th, six contestants will be living inside of a coffin (yes, including their meals).
But this year, there will be a bit of a twist.
According to a press release from the park, participants will be able to compete in "inside challenges" which will include, "'live bugs, pungent food items and trivia,' in an effort to earn points, penalties and a 'Get Out of the Coffin Card.'"
The rules are also a bit tougher - participants can only leave their coffin for 13 minutes at a time every three hours to use the restroom and check their phone. (Last year, participants could leave their coffin once every hour)
In addition, contestants will, "receive unexpected visits from snakes, spiders, skunks, other members of the animal kingdom," and other Fright Fest performers. Yikes.
And just a heads up, don't expect to sleep. Last year, that was one of the biggest rules and since it sounds like Six Flags is making this challenge more difficult this year, I would prepare accordingly.
Six Flags did reveal that they will play musical selections such as "Baby Shark" and other classics on repeat overnight so you are forced to stay awake, even if you don't want to.
Festivities will be hosted by guest emcee Butch Patrick of "The Munsters" fame.
Did I scare you off yet? No?
AWESOME because the prize waiting for you on the other side is good. The grand prize winner will get two Six Flags Gold Passes, two Fright Fest haunted maze passes and $600!
Runners up will win Fright Fest day passes or Six Flags Great Adventure season passes.
Still up for the challenge? Then click HERE to enter to participate. The deadline to enter is Sunday, September 22nd.
Another new feature, you can enter this competition as a couple - not really sure how that would work or why you want to squish two people in a coffin but whatever floats your boat.
Finalists for this event will be chosen during the week of September 23rd! Good Luck...I think. lol
