Teachers Are True Heroes

The Newtown tragedy brought 1000 thoughts to each of our minds and a million emotions. In the midst of the tears and sorrow, it crossed my mind what true heroes teachers really are.

We probably already had that thought in our minds, and if we didn't, we should have. But even if that thought was already in our minds, this unimaginable tragedy brought it into focus. Good teachers make all the difference in the world, and their dedication to our children is precious and invaluable.

So, today, I wanted to pay tribute to all the teachers of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and for that matter, all over our great nation, for their unending care and concern for our children, and to thank them for their all they do. Teachers, you tuly are heroes.
