The Christmas Train Spreads Holiday Cheer in this Monmouth County, NJ Town

No one really knows when the train under the tree tradition started during the holidays.  This is one of those traditions that many people love.  Parents and children alike absolutely love when the train comes out from its off-season resting place.  Piece by piece the track comes together.  Then the cars are pieces together, connected in order, then attached to the engine.

Then the moment of truth, does it still work?

Either you pull a lever or turn a dial, something to breathe life into this electrified, holiday tradition.  Then, without fail, it just doesn't work.  Most of the time, someone forgot to plug it in.  It happens right?

Fortunately, this tradition lives on in Spring Lake, New Jersey.

Spring Lake's Christmas Train Village is open for the season.

You can enjoy the sights and sounds of the Christmas Trains now through December 31st.  You can find it at 313 Washington within the Spring Lake Chamber of Commerce and open from Noon until 5.

My oldest daughter absolutely loved the displays, so yes, this is perfect for the entire family.  The entire setup is pretty fantastic.  You are taking a trip, visually, with this train into a miniature Spring Lake.  You'll see different businesses and even people represented along the train's route.

Is a Christmas train part of your tradition?  There is definitely an appeal to it.  My oldest is starting to ask if we can get one.  Her grandfather set one up at their house for her.  She was absolutely mesmerized by the set.
