Over this past weekend, I was very lucky to judge New Jersey's Pizza Bowl at Redd's Biergarten in New Brunswick.

Fun Fact: There are over 2200 pizzerias in New Jersey!!

And of those 2200, the top 16 pizzerias gathered to go head-to-head to be named the best Pizzeria in New Jersey.

Four pizzerias were selected from North Jersey, South Jersey, Central Jersey and of course, The Jersey Shore!!

Shout out to all of the Jersey Shore finalists:

Zoni's Brooklyn Brick Coal Oven Pizzeria in Red Bank

Maruca's® Tomato Pies in Seaside Heights

Vic's Italian Restaurant in Bradley Beach

The Galley Pizza & Eatery in Asbury Park

Now let me just say that I did not eat one bad slice of pizza during this entire event....but a winner for the Jersey Shore Chapter was crowned.

Congratulations to.....

The Galley Pizza & Eatery in Asbury Park!!!

I actually got to speak with the owner, Chris, so you know exactly what you have in store when you support this local, Jersey Shore business.

Two major things I took away from this:

1. Try the Station 83 Pizza: A white pizza with homemade chili oil, mozzarella, imported salami, imposta riccota cheese. Once it comes out of the oven, it is topped off with fresh basil and mikes hot honey. #OhMyGawdddd

2. They Have A Secret Menu: Keep an eye on their Instagram to see their secret menu items! Follow them at @TheGalleyAP.

Such a fun event and once again, congrats to the guys at The Galley in Asbury. What an honor...

P.S. I am embarrassed at the amount of pizza I ate.

Until next year....
