The historic Lincroft Inn has unexpectedly closed.

After 89 years in business, the Daverio family announced via Facebook that The Lincroft Inn's last day of business was Monday, September 12th, thanking patrons who contributed to their success.

They gave no reason for the closure, and it is unclear if the restaurant will be reopened under new ownership. It's truly a piece of history: a portion of the building still used today was first build in 1697!

It's in a pretty solid location on Newman Springs Road at the corner of Middletown-Lincroft Rd., so I'm sure it won't go unused for long.

It was a popular place in the area for bridal and baby showers and other parties, or even just for lunch or dinner. The space certainly provided plenty of great memories for lots of people in the community!
