According to the folks at Kapture Pest, the Garden State has several types of mice that call our state home, and here they are. We've added our scream factor to each one.

House Mice. Even though we won't admit it out loud, we've all seen them. They are, on average two and a half to three and a half inches long and could have 2.5 to 4 inch tails. Scream Factor (out of 10) is a 5.

More Mice Types That Call New Jersey Home

Field Voles. They would rather stay outside than come into your home. Good thing, because they can grow to 8 inches long Our scream factor, based on the length and the unlikelihood of seeing one in your home is a 7.

White-Footed Mouse. They're kind of cute and are more of a country mouse, so the odds are you won't see them in your home. We'll give them a scream factor of three.

Deer Mice. These mice are rarely seen in city environments and with a tail length of up to six inches long, and a body about the same, that's one foot of mouse you should be glad you're not dealing with them. Scream factor 7.
