The NJ Zombie Walk is reclaiming the Guinness World record this Saturday, October 5th, 2013. Come on out and either dress like a zombie, or just watch them, and be a part of setting this year's record! You and your whole family can join in the fun of the Undead Festival, too!

The NJ Zombie Walk has OFFICIALLY held the Guinness World Record for WORLD'S LARGEST GATHERING OF ZOMBIES from 2010 until 2012 in Asbury Park. You're invited to help keep the record going with a day of great, spooky fun for the whole family!

The Zombie Walk is presented by the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce and made up of people like you who dress up like zombies and make their way around the streets of Asbury.

Guinness Workd Records has officially recognized the NJ Zombie Walk hosted in Asbury as the holder of the record for the largest gathering of zombies. And this year it has special meaning, as the event will help celebrate the strength of the Jersey Shore to rise up after Superstorm Sandy.

This is one of our state's largest Halloween gatherings, with thrills, chills and laughter. Zombies of all ages are welcomed to participate in this family-friendly event. Best of all, the Zombie Walk is FREE!

The Undead Festival will be full of vendors and artists dedicated to all things horror and zombie. The Stone Pony will host this bizarre bazaar featuring over 30 unique and amazing tables full of spooky goods. Adding to the atmosphere around town, many of Asbury's restaurants and shops will also be offering up Zombie-themed menus, dinner specials and discounts.

You can also lend a 'severed hand' by donating your blood to the Central Jersey Blood Center which will host a Zombie blood drive on site to collect the undead blood before it coagulates!

The Move for Hunger Organization will also be on site to collect canned goods for local shelters and food banks. Last year the zombies gave more than 2,000 pounds of food to feed those in need during the winter in Monmouth County.

The Zombie Walk begins on the boardwalk in Asbury Park this Saturday at noon. Fans can arrive as early as 10 am to check out vendors and get makeup applied. A team of professional makeup artists will be on hand to assist in giving complete zombie makeovers for a nominal fee.

All day Zombies will gather on the Asbury Park Boardwalk in full costume and at exactly 3 pm the official count for this year's Guinness World Records attempt will begin! Zombies will be ushered onto the beach to enjoy music, games and live art until officials from Guinness confirm the world record and the walk begins.

Immediately following the gathering on the beach, Zombies will begin lurching down the Boardwalk towards the Carousel House. Then they will turn and head downtown, making their way through the streets of the walk route and coming to rest on Cookman Avenue and Emory Street. When the walk ends, Zombies can join in the live music and festivities throughout the downtown and boardwalk areas.
