Our Point Pet of the Week is named Amelia. She is a 6-month old Terrier mix who is already 30-pounds!

Amelia and her 3 sisters were rescued from a high-kill shelter in a southern state and brought to the Monmouth County SPCA so they could live, thrive, and find forever homes.

All of her sisters have been adopted but Amelia is still waiting for her a loving family. She is the shyest of the bunch and would really benefit from a quiet home with some basic training or puppy classes.

The staff at the shelter think she'd do best in a home with older teens or adults only. Amelia is dog-friendly and could really benefit from going home with another dog.

If you are interested in meeting Amelia, please fill out a Canine Matchmaker Profile and email it to adoptions@monmouthcountyspca.org!

And, if it's cats that you love, how about this sweet one?

Named Junior Minty, this cat lived with eight other cats until the owner moved and didn’t take his pets. Instead, he left them behind for a family member to deal with. And since she wasn’t able to care for all of those felines, Junior Minto was brought to the MCSPCA to find a new home.

This cat was so matted upon arrival since the previous caregiver didn't know how important it is to brushing cats, but now this cat is feeling so much better with glorious, long fur!

Junior Minto is getting used to shelter life, becoming less shy, and is very happy to be pet and spend time with friendly humans. This gorgeous cat would do best in a quiet home with lots of love, play, and window-watching to enjoy.

He is a 3-year old and would be fine sharing a home with other cats...or as an 'only' cat.
